MONDAY // A little Monday motivation from @sophiaamoruso
Career, life, relationships > focus on your own and celebrate your ups and downs, celebrate others as well, but be happy with where you are at 😊 this doesn't mean become complacent because there are always areas to improve on, but focus on nurturing those parts instead of feeling jealous/sad/envious/threatened by what others have/are doing ❤️😋

It snowed ❄️here in Utah today. As I was sitting near the 🔥 fireplace, I couldn’t help but reminisce over a story from my freshman year in high school.
It was a cold December day on the last day of school before winter break. The school bell had just rung at 3:15pm when my teacher, Mr. Anderson, approached me as I was putting all of my school supplies into my backpack. My heart started to pound as I thought that I was in trouble. These words replayed in my mind as I slowly lifted my head to address him, “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why am I going to be scolded?” As I raised my head and stared at him in the eyes, he said, “I know your family has had a tough time since your father passed away and I want to buy your family Christmas dinner.” I was so shocked by his kindness that I started to tremble. We stood there in silence as he gave me a warm, loving 💙hug.
Why me? How was my family deserving of this? How did he know that my family was struggling? I could not believe his words and the generosity of his heart. Despite not having my father there that Christmas, my heart was filled with love all from a teacher who was a stranger just four months prior.
I have come a long way in life since that day and I try to pay it forward by helping and mentoring others on their road to success. How are WE all paying it forward in our lives❓
