HOW TO MAKE COLD PRESSED COCONUT OIL AT HOME
1. Break your coconut and remove the shell.
2.Cut into pieces and blend, measure 1 cup of water for 1 coconut while blending, after blending, mash/squeeze together with your hands as if washing the shaft for 30 mins, leave it to stay for 3 or more hours before you sieve.
3. Leave at room temperature for 48 hours, the night of the 48th hours, put the mixture in the fridge ( not freezer), leave over night, by morning you will have your curd solid on top, separate the curd from the water by using a strainer to lift out the curd, put it in a clean container and keep on your kitchen counter or safe dry place.
4. By the next day, you will begin to see the oil coming up, you can use a spoon to scoop the oil on a daily basis until you are sure there is no more oil left. That's your cold pressed coconut oil, for cold press, you must not cook at all. Its virgin, pure and retains all its nutrients.
5.The left over curd can be cooked and you can get some oil out but that will be the hot press coconut oil. Some nutrients might be lost but its still useful.
